in a rut: 틀에 박힌 (rut = 판에 박힌 생활)
bust: 부수다, 고장내다
"You're in a rut, and I'm a rut buster. I'm going to bust your rut."
- I gave up my job because I felt I was stuck in a rut. (내가 판에 박힌 생활을 하고 있다는 느낌이 들어서 직장을 그만 두었다."
- Covid-19 has made our life in a rut. (코로나는 우리 삶을 단조롭고 판에 박히게 만들어 버렸다.)

'tuck in' 다른 의미
(1) 이불을 덮어 주다, 잠자리에 들다 (tuck in/up)
- The children are tucked up in bed. (아이들은 잠자리에 들었다.)
- I felt cozy tucked up in bed. (침대에 누우니 정말 아늑했다.)
- What is this? A blanket? You'll tuck me in? (이게 뭐에요, 이불? 저를 덮어주실 거에요?)

liberal with: ~에 너그럽다
"You're too liberal with the word legendary"
- She's very liberal with her money. (그녀는 돈을 쓰는데 아주 후하다.)
- He's too liberal with his purse. (그는 돈을 너무 헤프게 쓴다.)
hit and run: 뺑소니치다, 치고 달리다
"I'm really sorry that I have to hit and run, but we've got a plane to catch."
*참고: 해당 상황에서는 심각한 뺑소니보다는, 주인공인 Ted를 넘어트리고 난 뒤 급히 비행기를 타러 가야하는 상황을 의미.
- I was involved in a hit and run today. (나 오늘 뺑소니 당했어.)
- He was killed in a hit and run accident. (그는 뺑소니 사고로 죽었다.)
had better (do something): ~하는 편이 좋을 것이다
"Being a lawyer had better be awesome."

hit on: 수작을 부리다, 작업을 걸다
"I'm just talking to the guys' back while they hit on Robin."
- He hit on me. (그 사람이 나한테 작업 걸었어.)
- Oh, are you hitting on her? (오, 너 그녀한테 작업 거는 거야?)
swarm: 떼, 무리를 지어 다니다
"Wouldn't you be jealous of guys swarming all over my beewax?"
- A large swarm of locusts ate all the crops. (메뚜기 떼가 곡식을 다 먹어버렸어.)
- Ants swarm upon sugar. (설탕에 개미가 들끓고 있어.)

so much as: ~조차, ~만 해도
"Any groom so much as look at you..."
- She went off without so much as goodbye. (그녀는 작별 인사 조차 없이 떠나버렸다.)
- He never so much as smiled. (그는 웃지 조차 않았다.)
- He didn't so much as give a slight attention to those kind of things. (그는 그런 것들에 대해서는 신경 조차 쓰지 않았다.)
duff: 엉터리
"Believe or not, that duff bag thing worked."
- He sold me a duff radio. (그는 나에게 엉터리 라디오를 팔았다.)
cordon off: 저지선을 치다
"It must be really well cordened off over there."
- Cordon off the area and get back to me. (그 지역의 출입을 통제하고 나한테 다시 돌아와.)
- The police cordoned off the building. (경찰들이 해당 빌딩의 출입을 막았다.)

pull off: 해내다, 성사시키다
